This past week we were treated to the edifying (not!) theatre of ‘moral outrage’ across the MSM. Not one day went by without yet another article, story, opinion piece, report – and all because of one article by Boris Johnson on Monday 6th August in the Daily Telegraph. From the hyperventilating across the MSM by journalists, commentators, politicians and even the police an innocent bystander might have got the impression that BoJo had called to “Ban The Burqa”!
Not so. This is the actual headline:
“Denmark has got it wrong. Yes, the burka is oppressive and ridiculous – but that’s still no reason to ban it”.
It couldn’t have been more obvious, especially since most people just scan the headlines. But no – the real reason was this:
“If you tell me that the burka is oppressive, then I am with you. If you say that it is weird and bullying to expect women to cover their faces, then I totally agree – and I would add that I can find no scriptural authority for the practice in the Koran. I would go further and say that it is absolutely ridiculous that people should choose to go around looking like letter boxes; […]”
Do journalists, commentators, the permanently offended etc, actually read the stuff they are offended by, given that the final sentence of the article is “A total ban is not the answer.”? And btw, where are the stacks of complaints from Danes? BoJo did, after all, have quite a bit fof un describing their customs …
Instead we got acres of newsprint, we got Ms May – ‘Sharia May’ – wading in, we got Ms Cressida Dick, the Met Police Commissioner wading in, saying that the police found this was not really hate speech (how many of her police officers analysed that instead of preventing more acid and knife crime in London?). We saw urgent demands by some Tory muslim “Lords” that BoJo must apologise – apologise for what? Making a joke we’ve all have made? (He won’t, btw.)
We saw demands from the Tory Chairman that Boris be dragged to an inner-party tribunal for misconduct. Peak idiocy in the Tory Party was surely reached with the proposal that BoJo should be made to undergo ‘diversity training’ …
The political pundits opined that this was of course either a stroke of luck for May should Boris stand against her – or a fine machiavellian trick by BoJo in his allegedly forthcoming attempt to oust her. Even Jacob Rees-Mogg in his article in today’s Daily Telegraph sees it thus. Oh – and of course the opinions of various muslim women had to be published as well, to set BoJo straight …
So from what has this veritable MSM ‘sh*t-storm” deflected our attention? You may have noticed that suddenly the reports on institutionalised antisemitism in the Labour Party have gone missing. Poof. No longer of interest. Was that it?
No – our, the Nation’s attention has been masterly deflected from three reports by a Times investigation into how the Home Office – formerly led by our current PM – has actually helped rapists and abusers of women to come into this country.
The reports by Paul Morgan-Bentley are behind a paywall, but here are the titles if you’d like to check them out:
- Visas for men who force teenagers into marriage – Women and girls raped after being sent abroad, then Home Office lets illegal husbands settle in UK
- Forced marriage: Women with disabilities raped by visa cheats
- Forced marriage: Police ‘turn a blind eye’ to child brides
We read for example that the HoC Select Committee was aware of this practice in 2008 already. Yes, that’s indeed ten years ago – and still nothing has happened. This year, (2018 !), a small campaign has caught the eyes of some, namely that school girls, sent to the subcontinent for ‘holidays’, a.k.a. to ‘get married’, are advised to stick a spoon in the knickers so the security officers at check-in will take them out and they can – hopefully – complain.
To appreciate that this is no joke, just read this:
“British teenagers are being forced to marry abroad and are raped and impregnated while the Home Office “turns a blind eye” by handing visas to their husbands, The Times has found. Officials received dozens of reports last year that women wanted to block visas for men they had been made to marry in countries including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates. In almost half of their cases the visas were approved, records show. Experts believe that there are thousands of victims in Britain as the vast majority are too afraid to come forward.”
“They accuse the Home Office of failing to block foreign abusers from the country for fear of being called racist, and say it knowingly hands visas to criminals. It is illegal to force someone to marry. Victims are also being let down because immigration lawyers help their families to secure visas for their husbands without the woman’s knowledge.”
If you think this sounds rather familiar, then you’re not alone!
It gets worse:
“Last year officials dealt with 88 cases involving “reluctant sponsors”, a category used to describe those victims who actively try to block a visa or are suspected by officials to be in forced marriages involving a visa application. In 42 of the cases visas were issued anyway and in ten more a decision has yet to be made or an appeal is being heard.”
The ‘excuses’ by ‘officials’ at the Home Office are oh so familiar:
“Experts believe that there are thousands of victims in Britain as the vast majority are too afraid to come forward. Charities and campaigners say that the findings confirm their long-held suspicion that officials ignore reports from victims. They accuse the Home Office of failing to block foreign abusers from the country for fear of being called racist, and say it knowingly hands visas to criminals.”[My emphasis]
We’ve heard this before. Our ruling classes (and Whitehall Mandarins are the Ruling Classes) can’t be seen to be ‘racist’, so they leave the rapists well alone. Any bets that some of those rape-gang criminals came into the country as ‘husbands’ – after having raped their underage ‘wives’ …?
And this, dear friends, is why BoJo’s joke in his article has been occupying our MSM for the last week: to deflect our attention from the true scandal that is the Home Office giving out visas to criminals: forced marriages are illegal, raping under-age girls is illegal – but never mind, keeping them out would be racist. Btw – I’ve yet to see anything from the burqa-defending tribes condemning this practice of forced marriage, rape included, never mind the gang-rapes of white girls in their thousands by the acolytes of that same culture.
I don’t want Ms May gone just because she is traducing Brexit – I want her gone because as Home Secretary she did nothing at all to tackle rape gangs, to tackle the issue of forced marriage, to tackle the rape culture inherent in that one ideology a.k.a. Islam.
Let’s not walk away form this scandal or we’ll see Rotherham, Telford, etc, repeated for years and decades to come. It’s not islamophobic to say that in our country rape and forced marriages to underage girls are illegal, and to demand that our laws be enforced.
